Metal Replacement - Tooth Coloured Restorations

Most people don’t want metal fillings that show when they laugh or smile because they are more conscious about the way they look. This lady was very unhappy with the amount and appearance of the metal fillings in her teeth. Her treatment involved replacing the existing metal fillings and strengthening the weakened tooth structure with a combination of composite resin (white filling), an aesthetic porcelain onlay and porcelain bonded crowns.

White fillings are made of synthetic resin and give a natural, tooth coloured look. They can be placed on both front and back teeth, though if the filling is to be very large a crown, inlay or onlay will offer a stronger, more durable option.
